Arduino has launched IoT Bundle, a kit that reportedly provides all the hardware, software, and components needed to build your own connected devices.

Getting started with the Internet of Things (IoT) can be a daunting process. It requires a certain set of tools and a level of knowledge to take those first steps, but building own connected IoT devices can be an incredibly rewarding process once the basics are figure out.

The Arduino IoT Bundle is designed to bring together all the tools and knowledge that need to get started with first connected IoT devices. It’s built around the Arduino Nano RP2040 Connect, and the bundle also contains electronic components and a series of step-by-step tutorials to help get started quickly and confidently.

Several example IoT projects have been included, such as:

Pavlov’s Cat

A project that helps with the training of cats by associating certain melodies with the dispensing of food.

The Nerd

It builds own Tamagotchi-like digital pet that requires sunlight and virtual feeding. It can even send an SOS via the built-in speaker when it’s hungry.

Puzzle Box

The Puzzle Box is designed to keep belongings safe(ish) in a cardboard container which is controlled by a fun combination lock. It will need a few pieces of cardboard and the components from the Arduino IoT Bundle.

The box is kept closed with a servo meter and will only open if all the potentiometers are turned to the right combination. The combination can be set in the Arduino IoT Cloud dashboard. An LED box will use different coloured lights to indicate how close we guess the combination.
