RTI, HoloMatic partner to accelerate autonomous driving in China

Singapore – Real-Time Innovations (RTI), the software framework provider for autonomous systems, announced its partnership with HoloMatic, China’s autonomous driving technology company. Based on their respective technical strengths, the companies will work together to accelerate the mass production and growth of autonomous driving in China.

The current collaboration will focus on HoloMatic’s HoloPilot and HoloSAR solutions. HoloPilot enables autonomous driving on the highway, and HoloSAR is an implementation of the AUTOSAR adaptive platform methodology and run-time components for autonomous driving. HoloSAR provides flexible project configuration and a complete code generation toolchain, significantly reducing the porting and deployment effort of autonomous driving solutions on different hardware platforms. RTI Connext Drive, the software framework for autonomous vehicles, built on the data distribution service (DDS), will power HoloMatic’s solution. Through this integration, HoloSAR will fully support the adaptive platform DDS network binding, providing an information connectivity framework for autonomous driving systems that ensures system stability and safety, and offers the essential advantages of distributed systems, such as low latency, high reliability and scalability.

Through this collaboration, RTI and HoloMatic will work together to deliver a proven, high-performing, scalable, and flexible autonomous vehicle framework to accelerate autonomous driving adoption and mass production in China’s automotive market. The rollout will begin at the end of 2022, when the HoloMatic autonomous driving systems are expected to be installed in several Chinese OEM brands, including China’s Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC).

“Our work to bind the Connext Drive communication framework with HoloSAR will help HoloMatic’s self-developed domain controller to more flexibly and efficiently adapt to the R&D needs of Chinese OEMs to meet their stability and security requirements,” says Ni Kai, Founder and CEO of HoloMatic. “With this partnership, both companies will cooperate in the field of autonomous driving software, and work together to accelerate the mass production and popularisation of autonomous driving technology in the Chinese market.”

“We are honored to work with HoloMatic to deliver a future-proof architecture to the fast-moving automotive market in China. This partnership will further enrich the ecosystem, providing options and value to OEMs in their transformation journey,” says Kelvin Hor, APAC regional manager for RTI. “This software bundle will help OEMs to speed up their autonomous vehicle development while combining flexibility and superior performance based on real-time data.”
