Bosch Healthcare, a provider of TeleCare systems in Europe, has chosen Doro as a partner for its mobile TeleCare offering.
Bosch will integrate two Doro devices, both dedicated to enabling TeleCare, into its portfolio – the Doro Secure 680, a clamshell feature phone with GPS and the new Doro Secure 740, a 3G smartphone with GPS. This development integrates a special application relaying an alarm to the receiving centers of Bosch’s customers.
This new TeleCare offer will be commercialised by Bosch Healthcare in Germany, Switzerland and progressively to the rest of Europe from the beginning of 2013.
Markus Thürsam, VP Care Solutions at Bosch Healthcare said: “We have chosen Doro TeleCare mobile phones as they offer the feature sets we were looking for and at the same time a design which is well accepted by senior citizens. We believe that the current TeleCare portfolio shall be extended by a mobile solution and we are glad to be able to offer this option with Doro products.”
The devices use Doro Secure protocols either based on SMS messaging or IP transmission. These Doro Secure protocols allow the phone to send an alarm or information message to an alarm-receiving center.
The information that is sent together with the alarm can be easily integrated and processed by the call management system. The operator in the receiving center can monitor if the phone is active, if its battery is loaded and where the user is when he/she triggers the alarm.
Jerome Arnaud, Group CEO at Doro concluded: “We are very pleased that our development in the TeleCare field has resulted in attractive products for this market. This innovative move towards TeleCare is strategic for us. We believe that this partnership with Bosch will significantly contribute to our growth in this segment and Doro’s strategy to develop a care activity beside its traditional consumer business finds a fulfilling concretization with this cooperation.”
